JR And John Ross Fight For Southfork Ranch

TNT brings back the 1980's series Dallas. Even though JR and Bobby are much older they still have fight left in them. Bobby is the owner of Southfork Ranch, but JR is back to claim his birth rights and what he believes is rightfully his...Southfork Ranch.

It's Bobby birthday and he visits the doctor and finds out that he has cancer. Because his son Christopher is getting married in a couple of days, he tells the doctor not to tell anyone just yet because he has some family business to attend before anyone knows he is dying.

He leaves and visit his brother J.R. who is in at home suffering from clinical depression. Bobby pulls up a chair and begin to talk to J.R., who has a blank stare on his face. Bobby talked about all the fights they had growing up over Ewing oil.Now that they both have sons, Bobby said he wanted the sons to be a family without all the bad blood that they had for one another. He goes on to tell JR how much he miss and love him before leaving.

JR son John Ross is at the Southfork ranch drilling and striking oil. The crew celebrates their achievement of the oil strike and John Ross tells the crew to go and get their wives and have an entire weekend on him.

At dinner that night Bobby makes an anouncement that rocks John Ross to the core. Bobby tells everyone that he plans on selling Southfork. Because of his mothers wanting to conserve the land, he wanted absolutely no drilling on it, not knowing John Ross had already done so and stuck crude.

That scene at the dinner table setup more schemes, betrayals, blackmailing, and just plain backstabbing I have ever seen in a show. Absolutely no one in this show can be trusted.

Bobby finds out about John Ross drilling and kicks him off the ranch.John Ross visits JR and begins to tell him about Bobby kicking him off the ranch and wanting to sell Southfork and that he had struck oil there. The smell of money woke JR right out of his depression and JR first words in years were," Bobby was always a fool and stubborn as a mule." He asked what John Ross was planning on doing about it and John Ross told him that he has filed an injunction with the courts trying to stop Bobby, The grounds he filed under was mental incompetance.

Bobby meets with Martha, the daughter of an old friend from Mexico who is an conservator. They begin to look over the land by helicopter and Bobby lets her know that he wanted to keep the promise he made to his mother and that is to keep land to remain like it is. Later in the show we find that this particular Martha is a paid imposter by John Ross and JR, but JR doesn't know it. He thinks she is actually the daughter of an old friend and has her to try and make the deal with Bobby to buy Southfork Ranch, but really he JR would be buying it through her. She is working both sides of the fence in what seem to be her having a agenda of her own.

After repeated attempts from JR asking Martha to have her father call him to get the paperwork done for Southfork and Martha always coming up with an excuse, JR decides to head to Mexico to visit the father himself.

JR arrives in Mexico and was greeted with a warm welcome. JR got down to business and starts to question the father about the deal he made with his daughter about Southfork. The father stated that he had no idea what JR was talking about and that his daughter had no talk to him about anything. The father called his daughter in to ask her about things and when the daughter came into the room it was totally a different girl. That is when JR realized that he had been had by his John Ross. Now JR has blood in his eyes and now must show his son how things are really done.

So, as the show progress, who will get ownership of Southfork Ranch. Can Bobby keep the promise he made to his mother by keeping the money hungry wolves from getting the land and drilling for more oil?

Keep tuning in to TNT on Wednesday nights to find out more.
