Saturday night turned out to be a very disaapointing night for defending Gold Metalist Michael Phelps.
For the first time since he was 15 years old, Phelps did not win a medal, coming in at fourth place in the 400 IM race. After the meet and during the interview, Phelps was at a loss of words. He seem to be so stunned by the event that he could barely speak. USA Ryan Lochte dominated this race from start to finish.
So what happened with Phelps saturday night? Was it his training? He said there is no excuse for what happened and that he must put it behind him to focus on Sunday's swim event.
Phelps came into London only needing 3 medals of any kind to become the most medal holder of all-time. Can he regain his focus and compete like we all know he can, or is this the beginning of a terrible olympic for the superstar?
Sundays' event will be the 4x100 meter freestyle relay and coaches say they will talk with Phelps, so there are no certainty that we will see Phelps.
