Tornado Strikes Moore Oklahoma

Today, May 20,2013, a severe tornado about a mile wide and traveling over 200 miles per hour destroys the city of Moore, Oklahoma. As of now authorities are not aware of just how many fatalities or injuries there will be.The local hospital

Two schools were reported hit. One of them being a elementary school, which was actually tore in half where the gym use to be. It is reported that children were inside the school at the time the tornado hit. Governor Fallin said the tornado hit so fast that there wasn't any time to get the children to safety or have parents pick them up.

Law enforcement, including the National Guard has arrived on the scene to get things under control and organized. As of 6pm, more than 70 children have been pulled from the debris at the school.

More information will be coming concerning injuries and fatalities as Emergency Rescue Teams remove debris that have people trapped.The last major tornado recorded in Oklahoma was back in 1999 when winds were as strong as over 300 miles per hour.

Our thoughts and prayers are out to each family who have lost their home, or still looking for family members that are missing.

Update: As of 5:30 tuesday morning, the death toll has reached 24 and expects to continue to climb as the rescue continues. About 7 of those deaths are children.
